Esther Mahlangu is a world renowned mural artist who has elevated the Ndebele culture on the world stage through her work. She first gained international attention in 1989 at a European art exhibition titled “Magiciens de la terre”(Magicians of the World) and has recently partnered with Belvedere on a campaign. Later in 1991, Mahlangu was commissioned by BMW to create an Art Car. The car, a BMW 525i, was the first “African Art Car” and was painted with typical motifs of the Ndebele tribe. One of Mahlangu’s passions is sharing her knowledge with the younger generation so that she leaves a legacy that lives on for generations to come.
